I do not have Emacs 24 as of now.

With the same template I am not able to re-create this on

Org-mode version 7.01trans (release_7.01h.832.gf7094)
GNU Emacs 23.1.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.12)
 of 2010-01-30 on noorul
