I use

GNU Emacs 23.2.1 (i486-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.20.0) of
2010-08-14 on raven, modified by Debian

and do not have this problem.

Could I ask you to provide a backtrace for this bug?

1. Reload Org mode so it runs on uncompiled Elisp

M-x org-reload RET

2. Toggle debugging on error

M-x toggle-debug-on-error RET

And hit the bug.

'invalid-function' looks scary.
