I cannot reproduce this. I even tried with a file with 8264216 such lines. It took less than 4 minutes to open the file, less than 24 minutes to recalculate the second to last line. Then there was a message in the echo area: "Buffer test.org has shrunk a lot; auto save disabled in that buffer until next real save", but the buffer was actually as large as before (520645608 bytes). Mine is GNU Emacs 24.4.51.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.14.3) of 2014-10-24 and Org-mode version 8.2.10 (release_8.2.10 @ /usr/local/stow/emacs-snapshot/share/emacs/24.4.51/lisp/org/) Ciao, Gregor -- -... --- .-. . -.. ..--.. ...-.-
