As I am not really a fan of mouse-2 I was very delighted that support for mouse-1 clicks on certain links was added. Now after using it for quite some time I must say that I tend to revert to mouse-2 because clicking with mouse-1 succeeds in only about 50% of cases for me.
One reason for this is that I am sometimes not releasing the mouse button fast enough. Okay, this could be remedied by customizing `mouse-1-click-follows-link'. The second reason is the delay until the action associated with the click is actually performed and that one has to keep the mouse pointer over the link in order for the action to happen. Besides the delay being annoying, I often move the cursor off the link area before the action is carried out. I hope I don't start another of these endless discussions about this feature but for being useful, I think, it should behave more like in other applications. That means the action should be carried out without any delay as soon as mouse-1 is released.
