apropos -> max-lisp-eval-depth exceeded

I'm posting the slightly edited bug report I got from a user. This is a CVS compile from yesterday (Sunday), with a number of packages included as precompile. (I'm listing part of the site-load.el file below, showing all included packages that are part of GNU Emacs.)

I can't reproduce this, even with setting max-lisp-eval-depth low. Might be recursion. On a related note, I noticed that I had trouble compiling emacs - the process bailed out with the same "max-lisp-eval-depth exceeded" error message when byte-compiling mouse.el (reproducibly). I solved the problem by manually byte-compiling mouse.el. I don't know if this points to a similar underlying problem. Please write to Arthur directly and cc me in case there are any questions / comments.
