if i'm understanding correctly, i agree totally. the TODO item describes something that will provide encryption/decryption at the granularity of the entire file. i already had that (in the form of an addon elisp package, i think it's crypt++), but i am finding allout's easy articulation of encrypted _portions_ of a file, in the form of encrypted topics, to be as useful as i hoped - way way more useful for the kinds of things i need. ie, the ability to privately note passwords, lock combinations, sensitive comments and reminders, etc, in-line with the plain-text context where i need them. sliced-bread-caliber useful, for me. :-) i'm hoping to convey that usefulness to others... ken manheimer [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ emacs-pretest-bug mailing list emacs-pretest-bug@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/emacs-pretest-bug
