Then there is equivalent to Unix's $HOME and there's no clear winner: i.e. it's a case that doesn't matter too much because we don't know what would be the better choice. Maybe we should define $HOME=CSID_PROFILE and then say that the .emacs file instead of being in ~/.emacs.d/ should be in CSIDL_APPDATA.
