It's a regression though personally I'd avoid placing font-lock directives in the local variables section and would never permit Emacs hacking them. It would not be overly difficult to put something like a locally-hacked property on `font-lock-keywords' and have font-lock obey that rather than evaluating `font-lock-defaults' but I'm afraid we've missed this opportunity. > I solved the problem by writing instead: > > mode: font-lock > font-lock-defaults: (("^\\S-.*:$")) > > I don't know whether this should be mentioned in the NEWS.
