And loading this file creates in *Messages* the warning:
Ignoring unknown mode `*-mode'
So it seems to be more of a bug with local-variables ...
... funny bug. In general there seems nothing peculiar about fontset
specification we could use to inhibit `set-auto-mode-1' finding a mode
(the special case is trivial to fix). We could drop a note somewhere
to say that such specifications should not occur in the first two lines
of a file.
