Thanks for your bug report. I _like_ bug reports with patch included
:-)
As to the error handling: I'm afraid I'm not sure how to go about
that. So, if anybody out there has time and wishes to try several
situations where rcp.el will fail, please do so. I think I tried to
make a feeble attempt at helping the user find out what the problem is
by checking for an error situation and then showing the *rcp* buffer
to the user. But that doesn't seem to be very helpful -- in most
cases where people had problems, the buffer was empty :-(
