Hi,

It works much better, but there is still a problem. With 1.217 using
save-some-buffers does save the file instead of giving the error posted
in my original message. However, I still get the error message

Wrong type argument: stringp, nil

when loading the file (and so it still does not load into
the visible buffer) and whenever I save it (nevertheless the file does
appear to be saved correctly). FYI I started emacs with -q (ignore init
file) to verify that this occurs with vanilla emacs 20.4 and is not
caused by my init files.

To help track down this final error I ran using that toggle-debug-on-error
method you sent. Here are the results, they're Greek to me.
