Some time ago, we discussed about fsh which I recall to be a way to make remote commands using ssh faster. The idea is that fsh opens a connection to the remote host once, then subsequent invocations reuse the existing connection for new commands. I think that fsh is not useful anymore, given the way Tramp operates. But maybe the scp or rsync using methods could be made faster with it? (Though I have no idea how that could work.) kai -- I like BOTH kinds of music.
