You remember that we had this problem that some people needed to separate commands with ";" in tramp-send-command-and-check, and others needed to use a newline? I think I have now worked around this. Tramp now first searches for a shell to use, and only then searches for a command for finding out if a file exists. I'm betting that on those systems where ";" fails, a working bash or ksh will be found. (Right now, I think only Solaris is a problem, and that does have a ksh.)
