This backtrace is a little short.  Strange.  I don't know what's going
wrong.  The code is _trying_ to do what you want, so I'm not sure why
it fails.

Are you loading an uncompiled tramp.el?  If not, try that.  Also try
M-x debug-on-entry RET on tramp-multi-connect-su or M-x edebug-defun
RET (with point inside the defun in question).

I wonder if it helps to upgrade to 2.0.2.2?  Maybe that has an effect,
the change seems moderately related.
