I got going a few days ago with sacha's plannerbundle, and I've kept her WelcomePage.txt and added to it.  Perhaps it has some ideas others would want to use.  First, I defined a function to open the page and bound it to M-home, which is what Firefox uses to load its home webpage and which is now lodged in my head as "home":

(defun wikihome (point)
  "Go to WelcomePage.txt."
  (interactive "d")
  (planner-find-file "WelcomePage" 'find-file))

(global-set-key [M-home] 'wikihome)

and my current WelcomePage.txt is attached to avoid wrapping problems.

Cheers -
