Not a ton to report, but, we're only one week in.

Gus has a working testbed app. It's not like we're already compiling *the* app,
but rather a simple three-panel shell for testing the low-level IMAP and SMTP
libraries we're planning to use for networking.

I am working on recruiting, and on ideas for defining the roles that need to be
filled. I've been quiet on the lists, and because I'm busy with Tabletpalooza
this week (including cross-country travel), I'll likely continue to be quiet on
this list. I hope to use the time on the plane today to catch up on list
traffic.

If anyone would like to volunteer for a specific role or task, you can feel
free to contact me privately via email. (You can all contact me privately for
any reason, for that matter.) It'd be helpful to know what you've made in the
past, and if you have specific concrete ideas about what Letters should be.

Lastly, I think the traffic level and signal-to-noise ratio on this list are
getting problematic. I've got 1300 unreads here already, and I don't think
there's anywhere close to 1300 good ideas in there. Let's pretend like we're
all in a big auditorium, and there's just one microphone. Everyone gets the mic
when they want it, but let's try to make sure it's something that gets us more
on track than off.
