Another e-mail client I use is GyazMail. This one has an almost perfect
customization of shortcut keys and keyboard navigation. I quickly remapped
the shortcut keys I use in Mulberry to the same functions in GyazMail.
Makes transitioning from any other package much easier. Most (but not all
unfortunately) can be assigned to single keys, or modifiers+letters.
I'd say the default keys should match up with Mail.app, but be user
configurable.
Storing the key bindings in separate plist would allow you to have (and
user's exchange between themselves) a selectable set of key bindings. One
for mutt bindings, one for Eudora, one for Mail.app, one for emacs, etc....
Would be nice but not necessary for 1.0:
- Gmail label support
I believe in Gmail's IMAP implementation labels are treated like folder. So
if in the web client you create a label and assign it to some messages, in
an IMAP client you would see a folder with that label name and the messages
assigned to it show up under that folder. If you assign a message to a
folder, on the GMail side it gets that label.
So I think GMail has labels covered under general IMAP support. Not sure
about some of the functions like having one message with multiple labels
though.
