I have been advised that the list mom is around, and still in active custody of the list (whew... BIG relief to hear that). As to my forgotten system comment... I can think of a number of situations where a server could be running, hosting this list, and the no one to be aware of its existence. Does that mean the server never needs to be rebooted? Well, I would never say never... but a well installed, well setup, well designed server system SHOULD be able to run non stop, totally ignored for YEARS. I can tell you that it is possible to run Mac servers sitting in a corner, forgotten about, for years on end. A good "for instance"... I have a mail server here at my house that acts as the backup mail exchanger for a number of domains I work with... it has been running, sitting on the floor under a book case, for going on 2 years... not once have I had to do anything to it maintenance wise (I have logged into SIMS on it from remote to add more domains to it, but that is it). It is a nice simple, PowerBook 160, so it handles its own UPS needs with its built in battery. So I am MORE than happy to believe that a list like this can be running on a machine that has been forgotten about. Even more so if you figure that the machine itself might still be actively managed, and it might just be this list that was forgotten (if the machine hosts a number of lists) But it looks like it is all irrelevant, as our faithful list mom is still out there keeping an eye on things -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
