I own or moderate six groups on YahooGroups. For about a year, they have
been totally unresponsive to tech support issues -- not even an
acknowledgement, let alone solutions. The subscribe process can be done
manually, and there is a procedure for adding the real name as well as
email address (useful for clubs and other groups). Over half the time,
the real name never appears on the Members page. I've written to them
multiple times about this, and they never respond.

They changed their privacy and "marketing" defaults so that by default,
every YahooGroup member receives email from their various "marketing
partners." It takes specific actions on the part of every registered
member to revert these back to not receiving marketing emails.

The Welcome Message text has disappeared from the Add page, so it has to
be manually pasted in each time. It is there in the Settings, but does
not show up where it is most needed. I've written to them multiple times
about this, and they never respond.

I could go on. I'm not sure there are good alternatives for clubs and
volunteer organizations without someone stepping forward to host a list,
but I have become more and more disenchanted with YahooGroups.

Best Regards,
