I think the closest you can do is sort by subject. That will lump 
everything with matching subjects, (ignoring Fwd and Re), in a row. This 
will put as close to a full thread listing as you can do.

I suspect most other email apps do that to, because other than a subject 
line there isn't much else to use to match up a thread in email. So when 
the subject line changes, it will always look like a new thread.
