I'm about to bite the bullet and get DSL, but the DSL offered by my ISP
(through Verizon) has an extra quirk that's confusing. It offers various
plans under 2 different options, namely:

Residential DSL (frame connection)
or
Residential DSL (ATM connection)

This can be seen at http://www.ez2.net/dsl-r.html

The specifications for both options are essentially identical, and when I
asked, he essentially told me that it's sort of like the choice between
Beta and VHS, i.e. Verizon initially was offering DSL with the "frame
connection" but later added the ATM technology, which is what PacBell was
using.

But that still leaves me wondering if I'm likely to get a better
connnection or better speeds with one or the other.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Alicia
