To quote Bill Clinton (which I am loath to do, but it is appropriate here): "I share your pain". To quote Wayne of "Wayne's World" (which I often do): "Not!" First, you neglect to mention what Mac you are installing Jag. onto and what OS is on there, if it is a clean install, any peripherals, etc. etc. If you tried installing on a G3 Mac, there will be issues. Frankly, there will be issues with any pre-2002 Mac as Apple, IMHO, determined that only G4 Macs would be supported fully. OS 10.1.5 came pre installed on my FP iMac and worked flawlessly. I've *never* had a crash/kernal panic on the machine. Installed Jag. with no problems when it was released and updated successfully to 10.2.2. The key reason, I think, is that I'm using a stock Mac, with minimal 3rd party peripherals--one Kingston 256 meg. RAM chip and an Epson printer. On the Mac-L list people complaining about X ususally (not always, usually) have some older 3rd party issues, usually video cards or USB peripherals. OTOH, I've also installed 10.2 on my Powerbook (Lombard) G3 333mh/384/40G and it works fine, as well. CE 2.0.3 works fine as well, as long as the app. resides in a folder named "Claris Emailer Folder" sans quotes. CE was in a folder named Claris Emailer (no Folder included). When I first tried running CE under Classic, it would fail to launch. I puzzled over it for a few days, then decided to reinstall CE. The reinstall created the Claris Emailer Folder and CE worked fine. So, under Classic, the system expects to find CE in a folder named "Claris Emailer Folder" While I don't expect everyone on this can afford to, if you can, upgrade to a 2002 built Mac, with Jag. compliant peripherals, and you will find an OS more stable than you have ever experienced. bevon ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
