It only goes back to 10/22/2002.
I wonder where the previous messages are?
They're in that golden bit-bucket in the sky. :~(

If I remember my history correctly, Eskimo.com originally maintained its own archive of the list. But one day the archive vanished, and no one at Eskimo.com would answer our queries about returning it to service, or releasing it for storage elsewhere. I think it was around this same time that we decided the list was on auto-pilot, and that we shouldn't rock the boat -- especially if the only thing keeping our list alive was a stable mail server and a lazy system administrator.

Anyway, we were archive-less for a long time, until someone discovered, like Mike Harvan did, that Mail-Archive.com had suddenly started archiving us. No one knows what prompted them to start archiving us. But, Mail-Archive.com seems to be in the business of archiving public mailing lists, so as far as archiving solutions are concerned we seem to have found a good one -- especially if it makes it easier for people to find our list and hold onto their copy of Emailer instead of going over to the dark side.
