 I can agree with this. But the concepts are actually very similar. The 
desktops are at the same place as ever. The icons are always on there in 
10.2, unless you turn that off. You can forget about the actual folder 
even if it's not hidden. So forget about it.

Actually before 10.2.x, when in a classic app open/save dialog choosing 
"desktop" would take you to the OS 9 desktop. Now, you get taken to your 
user desktop. At least in my box and I didn't change anything.....Same 
goes for apps that download to the desktop in classic. They end up in on 
the user desktop.

I only use my OS 9 desktop folder alias to find stuff I left there when 
booted into OS 9.
