I've been meaning to ask why I get the spam that I do get. Its my impression that at least to some extent, the places you visit or the things you buy on line leave a trail that attracts spam.
Some of the spam I get is an invitation to refinance my mortgage, and I can see how that sort of thing might be sent to almost anyone in Southern California. But the great majority of my spam is from married chicks who want action on the side, college girls who invite me to look at the webcam they have installed in their rooms, and other porno stuff like that. I never click on those links, I've never trolled in chat rooms, and I've never tried to go to porno sites, so why do I get this stuff? Is it just that everyone gets it, or is it something about me?
