I thought I'd be the last person to us OS X, but my late-2002 iBook purchase has led me to wander into that new frontier with a very surprising benefit.
Ever since I switched from dialup to DSL, while keeping my original dialup's POP and SMTP service, I've had to use the "Send Authenticated Mail" script to send mail. When I would occasionally forget to use the script, and would instead just click "Send Now", Emailer would usually (but not always) get a connection error and fail to get the message off. I'm finding, for unknown reasons, that I can send mail under OS X 10.2 without any authentication issues. I simply click "Send Now" on all mail, no matter how many minutes it has been since I last checked for mail. I'm delighted to see that, at least for me, Emailer is performing better in OS X Classic than it does in OS 9. ---Jay ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
