My thoughts on that:

1) Emailer can't be changed from that 72 character limit, IIRC (not 
without some major ResEditing...).

2) Boy, are they picky!!  (actually, anal-retentive and/or too-too-trendy 
were the words that came to mind)

You'd think they could accept differences in email clients, wouldn't ya? 
Are they Windows users, by any remote chance (i.e., herd-followers)? ;-)
