I have a problem connecting via modem to AOL. I'm trying to use a PowerBook G4 to run Claris Emailer 2.0v3 and connect to AOL using the internal modem dialup. AOL 5.0 connects via modem when the startup disk is running on 9.2.2, but not under Classic when started up under 10.2.3. I've just upgraded from a G3 running 9.0 using a GV Teleport Platinum.
But I can't get Emailer to pick up the AOL messages. I copied the Apple Internal 56K v.90 modem script from the Library to the AOL connection folder in Emailer, but the error messages read "Execution of Schedule Connect Now at Mon, Jul 7, 2003 10:36:33 PM Preparing messages Connecting to America Online using Account America Online Establishing connection ** The access company failed to respond. Please try again later. Disconnecting Execution of Schedule Connect Now at Mon, Jul 7, 2003 11:16:24 PM Preparing messages Connecting to America Online using Account America Online Establishing connection ** Unable to open communications port Disconnecting I like Emailer a lot, and have used it since v 1.1, so I'm hoping to keep using it. Anybody using Emailer in OS X to connect to AOL using dial-up? Or using Emailer in OS X to connect to AOL via broadband? Or do you have to migrate to another email program? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
