Has anyone else noticed that John Carlsen has updated his eMessage Archiver? Dated 22 July, eMA 4 beta 11 is now on his web site at: <http://homepage.mac.com/ThinkAgain/Mac/eMA/> and may be worth a look.
Has anyone tried it? I see that he says: "Added support for these email and news applications (I expect that minor bugs still exist; let me know of any): Mail by Apple (The current eMA support for Mail is very useful now. Mail's AppleScript support is unfinished and I had to work around many limitations; Apple promises to fix this in the next major Mail & Cocoa upgrades though.) Mailsmith Thoth, MacSoup, & Hogwasher (few testers so far, but they are based on the successful NewsWatcher support of eMA 3.) Improved support for all the 6 other applications already supported: Entourage and Outlook Express Emailer 2 Eudora PowerMail NewsWatcher & its variants New database format, using FMP date/time methods, and making import from Dan Crevier's Emailer Archive database much faster. Also imports messages from my prior archiver, eMessage Keeper, from Hypercard." This looks good as it seems we will be able to migrate to a new email program when, or if, Emailer breaks and still be able to consolidate our old CE mail and whatever new email we might choose into one archive if we select to use one of John's supported email clients. Would you really like me to distribute your unlisted telephone number? Basically it's the same thing and increases the Spam we all get.
