You are correct. I glossed over the particular achievement of Hitler's 
that caused Arnold to admire him.

But as you went on to say (or imply), most of us are not so able to 
compartmentalize that we can admire the man for that achievement when we 
consider the totality of his career. 

In particular, I wouldn't think a politician would be able to get away 
with it. But then I was proven wrong. I don't know whether I was wrong 
because the majority of people think its OK to admire Hitler for some 
parts of his career, or I was wrong because most people don't read the 
papers and confuse movie roles with capabilities and experience. 

Its hard for me to decide which possibility distresses me the most.
