On or about 12/12/03 10:30 AM [EMAIL PROTECTED] AKA [EMAIL PROTECTED]
eruditely mused the following:

> i've been emailing myself messages
> just to get the account to send outgoing mail.

Here is my partial solution:

Make a new "Schedule" with the following settings:
Send Mail only to your AOL account. Set the sending time at 10 minutes
after your usual scheduled collection time. Set the days the same as
your usual schedule.

Set up a new "Mail Action"
Put it first in you Mail Actions list.
Call the action something appropriate like "AOL 1 of 0".
Set the criteria as follows:
>From is "your aol account" - Apply Actions - Go to next Line
Subject contains " AOL 1 of 0" - Apply Actions - Don't Apply Actions
In the "Define Actions" entry window as follows:
Set the message priority to "Suspect Mail" (or whatever priority you use
for Spam).
File the message in "Deleted Mail".
Auto redirect message.
Use the "Redirect to ..." button to set up the incoming message to be
sent to your AOL account from your AOL account.
Check the box "Stop mail actions if criteria are met".

Lastly, write yourself a message whose subject is "(same as you set in
the Mail Actions criteria as the subject of your filtered mail) and set
it to be sent in your regular first scheduled connection with your AOL
account.

Now the only problem is to somehow automate deletion of the incoming and
redirected messages that will accumulate, but at least you ensure there
is always at least one message in your AOL mail box.

Cheers
Karl
