Well remove it. There are NO viruses for OSX and not likely to be for a long long time. OSX is structured so that its vulnerability is minimal. In fact the most likely event is that you will download some piece of "trojanware" sh:t and then stupidly enter your password when it asks for it. Basically, you need to be pretty dumb to suffer any harm. You don't need "anti virus" software to protect a Mac and you don't need to install it to protect your PC-loving friends because you won't be dumb enough to forward PC viruses to them - will you? One of the nice things about Emailer is that it doesn't attempt to open attachments and you can see the filenames if you do receive any.
