I know this is off topic but I want to strongly second the use of a
database program rather that a spreadsheet. In almost all cases a db
program is better suited for the task. If you want to produce graphs,
export the data to a graphing program. Panorama is a good bet though I
haven't used it personally. I have observed coworkers using it and I
think it has better spreadsheet functions. I have been using Filemaker
for more than 20 years and can recommend it also. Setting up a database
is easy enough and once it is set up it is much easier to maintain than a
spreadsheet and except for Wingz it is generally faster. Fully
functional trial versions of both databases are available on line. I
think spreadsheets became so popular because the Microsoft database was
so limited and difficult ( complex and limited field sizes).
