Yesterday I got a telephone solicitation for DSL service from SBC. I was
interested in some of the details of the service, so I asked the guy some
questions but had revealed no personal information to him whatsoever.

Out of the blue in answering one of my questions, he said something like
"Since you have a Macintosh, you would etc., etc."

Realizing I had not revealed anything about my computer, I asked him how
he knew I had a Mac.

He replied, "Well, Windows people never know anything about their
computers. Their computers just do thing for them." To which I
responded, "...or NOT, as the case may be." (I had just that morning
been annoyed when a simple html webpage attachment to an email could not
be opened by a friend's Windoze machine!!) The SBC guy went on to say
that the only people he talks to who know anything about their computers
are Mac owners!
