Recently I noticed a curious situation where the preference for deletion of messages older than a certain date do not automatically get deleted any more from the deleted mail folder.
The setting is found in -> Preferences -> Files and Folders As I normally don't restart my computer very often these days, now that I use Mac OS X (recently updated to 10.4.1), nor do I restart CE or Classic often either, I noticed that when I quit Emailer, it no longer deletes the older messages like it used to. Here is what I already tried. Change the deletion Pref to off Reset the deletion Pref to on Reset the deletion Pref to a different amount of days. Rebuild the database No difference with any of these options. This cannot be a function of the Mac OS X as CE runs in Classic, so the Mac OS 9 is controlling that function. Am I right? If I throw the Emailer preference file away, please remind me exactly what information it holds, so I know what to record for reentering, so I can try that option. Any ideas?
