>Outlook Express Macintosh and Entourage both import the Claris Emailer >database and address books quite nicely.
Lots of apps import it, but until Rich spoke up, I was under the impression they all used AppleEvents to handle it. I'm almost positive Outlook Express uses AppleEvents. Entourage may do it direct since jud spencer wrote Emailer's database and he worked on Entourage. On the other hand, rumor has it, jud was denied permission to use portions of Emailer's code in Entourage, so for safety, they may have also done that with AppleEvents. A quick and dirty way to know if an app is using AppleEvents or not... does it need Emailer to be installed or can it just work with the database file. Outlook Express not only needs Emailer to be installed and accessable, but it starts Emailer during the import... that is an almost sure sign it is using AppleEvents to get to the mail. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
