Same result with all system and Epson extensions turned on - won't move out of Chooser window - although it did warn me that I was changing my printer when I highlighted the Epson ( a Laserwriter that I had never trashed had shown up for the party too). Spooled and then nothing.
I guess after 2 hours on this sole endeavour that I shall cut and paste from now on! Thanks anyway everyone!
