>(1) I am still using OS 9.2.2 primarily because I don't want to give up >using Emailer for my mail, does anyone have good/bad experiences using >Emailer with the newest Mac OS X versions?
Many of us have been using Emailer in Classic on OS X for some time and have had no significant problems. There are a few gotchas, such as in Classic, Emailer can't dial the modem. I'm typing this right now on Emailer in 10.4. The only problem I've had with 10.4 is I get the occasional message that is unpacked twice. I'm sure if I spent time looking into it, I could figure out a pattern as to when a message isn't deleted from the Temp Incoming folder and thus unpacked twice... but I'm really lazy, and the issue doesn't bother me that much (maybe every 10 or so times I check mail, the last message to unpack will be unpacked again when I check mail again) >(2) I read that someone has created a patch to allow e-mail to do SMTP >Authentications. Is this patch downloadable somewhere? http://emailer.mythtech.net look in the App Mods folder, the first item I believe is what you want. I didn't actually download it to check (see above about being lazy). And yes, I know there is potentially something wrong with me not knowing what is on my own web server, but for me to know every last item in the emailer section, I'd have to look at them all when people give them to me to host. And doing so would be against my principal of being lazy (are you getting the idea yet... I'm one lazy guy!) If that isn't it, or you want to be lazy too... then get the direct download from <http://www.mythtech.net/SMTP_Auth_Login.sit> I know that is what you are asking for. Oh, and welcome to our little corner of the universe where Emailer still rules! -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
