Hi Bea:

Have seen similar messages to yours occasionally posted to this list over
the years. Emailer database corruption occasionally happens, but is
fixable.

After you launched Emailer with the option key held down, did a standard
Emailer Database rebuild and Emailer automatically quit after finishing,
did you look inside Emailer's mail folder, inside Claris Emailer Files
folder for the (Now marked) "Old Mail Database, also "Old" Mail Index and
move them out of that folder to your desktop and close those folders
prior to launching Emailer normally again?

The new ones (unmarked) with same names replaces those "old" ones. Don¹t
leave the old and new sets of same in the same folder. The "permanently
deleted message" should be gone when you launch normally Emailer again,
or you should then be able to select the "permanently deleted message,³
click the trash can button and it should be vanish.

Trash the "old" ones on your desktop afterwards, or if you absolutely
need to keep the old ones, try opening them up in a word processor, or
some other program and convert them to text.

Regards,
Martin
