You can always download the latest OS 9 version of Stuffit Expander to 
make sure you have the latest possible version of the Stuffit Engine.

However, I don't think Emailer uses the Stuffit Engine to handle file 
encoding. I think it only uses it to stuff and unstuff attachments should 
that action be needed. I'm pretty sure all the file encoding (base64, 
AppleDouble, whatever) is handled directly by Emailer.

So it shouldn't be a Stuffit issue.

Of course, I could be wrong, and maybe it is all handled by the stuffit 
engine.
