<I must point out that, for those of us on "digest" (maybe only me?),
it's
an absolute nightmare trying to sort out who is writing what. The
tendency of some members to "top post" (without even pruning the quoted
text) and of other members to include adverts and ruddy great thirty line
"signatures" makes it difficult to figure out what half the posts are
about. So I don't even try.>

I don't blame you -- it's NOT just you who would experience this in
digest mode. That's also why I don't subscribe to any of my lists in
digest mode. Given the choice, I'd rather have my inbox flooded with a
zillion individual emails that I can read and respond to (or delete, LOL)
individually than one big email with posts by top posters, people who
don't know how (or are too lazy) to edit, or who put ads/ginormous sig
lines in their posts, and so on. I tried digest mode once (on a different
list, a long time ago), and it took me about a week or so to change back
to "regular" mode -- for exactly these same reasons you cite, plus it was
a PITA to reply in addition to all that.

So, what are you still doing on digest mode anyway? ;-)
