Hi Neville and all:

First, I decided to take a look at Network Utility too but when I tried
clicking on its icon in my Laptop's finder, it just did a little piff
action and did not open. I tried looking inside the package but found no
app to open there. So I checked Network Utility on my desktop (both
running 10.4.8) and it opened into a set of windows which I recognized -
I would imagine that I have investigated previously and I would guess I
would have done so on my laptop.

Why would it not open on my laptop and is there a way I can force it to?
(Dump pref file?)

Oddly enough the "Network Utility.nib" on my laptop is in an open folder
but on my desktop it is a package.

Secondly, when I did finally ping my ISP's smtp info, domain name or
server address, I got 100% packet loss. Did I do something wrong?

Thanks for any help and,

It's been great to hear from everyone lately!

Tannis
