PDF files are not pictures.  They are complex files comprised of text,
images (if present) and formatting.

PDF files generated from source documents (such as an MS Word .doc or a
Quark Xpress file) are generally not editable.  Certain elements can be
adjusted, but those elements can not be edited for content in the way the
original text or image file could be manipulated.
