What you are likely noticing is a difference in the speed in which
the browsers can render the page after downloading all the content.
Also, Safari probably starts rendering while still downloading. I
know iCab tends to wait to render a page until everything has
downloaded (this is an issue that prevents me from using iCab to
check some server logs, as iCab will simply not render the log file
to the screen because the server never actually closes the connection
because it is an active feed of the log... so iCab sits there waiting
and waiting for what it thinks is more data to be downloaded, and
never puts up what it has already downloaded).
