I had thought that Gates mother was setting up calls before the Kildall 
meeting.

Maybe she was trying to, but they would not listen, because "Kildall was 
the big boy", but when he flaked on them, they decided to meet with Bill.

His mother definitely had an influence, from the accounts I have read, 
its a matter of how much and when. ;-)

After all, who wants to admit you became the worlds richest man on 
account of your mom?
