Does anyone know how to open winmail.dat files?
For some reason, when I double clicked on it (an attachment in CE) and
VLC (a media player) tried to open it.
I then tried Tex-Edit Plus and then Word and they both showed code.

Winmail.dat files are a specially created encoded file. They are
annoying and another example of where MS takes a perfectly good
standard and decides to reinvent the wheel by coming up with their
own standards.
TNEF's Enough from the above link will decode the file into its
component attachments.
