This is "normal". Safari crashes for me. It seems to happen as Emailer starts to download messages - but not every time. It dies on me about twice a week which, considering that Emailer is on a 20 minute schedule, ain't too much of a problem. And in answer to the inevitable "why don't you use Firefox?" or whatever - because I don't like it and it has its problems, too.
