Marc,

     I generally use Apple-A to select, but had never tried using it on a 
folder to bring up the entire contents of that folder.  Usually I just 
click the folder to open and then Apple-A to select the entire contents 
(this is mostly the 'Delete' folder.    However, if I don't want to 
delete all the contents and want to de-select I just click below the list 
in that file.  If you are in the folder list then I guess clicking on 
another folder does the trick also.
