Dear Emailer list, I haven't heard anything for a while and may have missed a discussion of the following phenomenon.
I use Emailer primarily to collect my AOL mail, an address I have had for a long time so am reluctant to give it up. I today for the first time in probably a month or two, went on line to AOL through the web mail portal as I do not have the AOL software installed on my Mac G4. I was looking at an email directly which didn't download well since it was in HTML and from a foreign country on a list I subscribe to. I was checking around a few other spots and noticed that my Address book on the AOL web mail has all the names from the addresses from my Claris Address book in there. I never put them in. How did they get there? I know they didn't used to be there because I have looked before and put in an occasional one that I wanted to make sure didn't get viewed as SPAM by AOL before being sent to me. How did AOL get all my names? There are a few email addresses, but mostly just the names are all there. This gives me the creeps that AOL can get information off my computer! Thanks for any ideas or assistance. Susan, still a loyal emailer user. P.S. Has anyone written a new program yet for OSX? I have lost track of that discussion and am hoping someone will. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
