I have a Mail Database of about 180MB and a Mail Index of about 22MB. I don't think I have ever rebuilt them. I have also not had any problems.
However, I just went looking for an old email, and I discovered that my inbox does not contain any emails earlier than last December. Some of my other folders contain older emails, but the Inbox folder does not. I'm sure it should. What should I do to "fix" this? I don't want to do anything precipitous which will make matters worse, if there is indeed a problem.
